The vast majority of golfers do not keep a golf Handicap Index® for a variety reasons. Primarily, golfers don't know the benefit of keeping a handicap nor what they gain from it. Additionally, it can be expensive to maintain one, and cumbersome to keep it all in one place. Golf Pipeline makes it easy for golfers to keep their handicap, and for Junior golfers to obtain a handicap for free.
Menomonee Falls, WI (PRWEB) December 13, 2012
Golf Pipeline, a website providing online tee times, golf score tracking, golf handicaps, golf social networking, and services for golfers to organize tee times, introduces a new program to assist Junior golfers - those golfers who are 22 years old or younger are eligible to obtain a free golf Handicap Index®. Junior golfers that join Golf Pipeline (membership is free) can obtain a free handicap starting immediately.
"At Golf Pipeline, we believe that the best way to grow the game is to provide tools for golfers of all ages," said Phil Terranova, Founder and Handicap Director. "Many of us first learned to really appreciate the competitive nature of the game of golf through the process of obtaining a handicap. Most high handicappers become frustrated playing against better golfers because the gap can be considerable. With a handicap, the playing field is leveled and it's anybody's game!"
Junior golfers wishing to obtain a free handicap should visit Golf Pipeline and start by creating a free account. Users can register for Golf Pipeline through the use of Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter accounts, or by registering with an email address. Once registered, the user should complete their profile including date of birth. Finally, for validation purposes, the user should send a picture of their student ID or any other document with either a photo on it or with their date of birth, to firstname.lastname@example.org. A user can take a picture of the ID or the other document with a smartphone or other device in order to make it easy to send a copy of the document. Once submitted, a user will be assigned a handicap within 48 hours and will have the membership through their 22nd birthday.
Once activated, golf handicap club members can track scores at every golf course in the United States and print a handicap club card. Members can also book online tee times or add existing, previously-booked tee times, and invite their friends to play golf in their foursome by selecting existing Golf Pipeline friends, adding email addresses, or selecting Facebook friends or LinkedIn contacts.
Golf Pipeline, founded in the Metro-Milwaukee, Wis. area, is an innovative online golf management solution providing golfers the ability to book or add tee times, invite friends, track scores, communicate with other golfers, purchase a club subscription licensed to use the USGA Handicap System™, and create a golf profile to showcase equipment found in the golfer's bag, all via the Golf Pipeline website. It is free to become a member and use Golf Pipeline, and there are no booking fees when booking tee times at Golf Pipeline member courses.
