DSU Not To Renew Contract of Coach Conner

Delta State University director of athletics Jeremy McClain announced Tuesday, March 13 that the contract of head men's basketball coach Jason Conner will not be renewed. 

"We would like to thank Jason for his time and commitment to Delta State University and the Statesman basketball program," McClain said. 

Conner directed the Statesmen to a 93-73 record during his six-year tenure, including a 6-21 finish in 2011-12.  The Lakeland, Fla., native became head coach in 2006-07 after spending seven seasons as the primary assistant to former head coach Steve Rives.

A nationwide search to find his replacement will begin immediately.
