Fort Myers, Florida, senior-living community to offer supervised independent living, assisted living and memory care
Bonita Springs, Fla. (PRWEB) September 11, 2012
Discovery Village at The Forum LLC in Bonita Springs has begun construction of Discovery Village at The Forum in Fort Myers, Florida, announced Thomas J. Harrison, a managing member of the company and CEO of Discovery Management Group.
Discovery Village at The Forum will be a state-of--the-art, world-class senior-living community and wellness center for seniors seeking supervised independent living, assisted living and memory care. The Florida senior-living community is being built at 2619 Forum Boulevard, Fort Myers FL 33905. Construction is expected to be complete by October 2013.
Discovery Village at The Forum will offer personalized, all-inclusive senior care plans and resort-style amenities in a stimulating environment where residents will have all of their needs taken care of. Features and amenities will include three gourmet meals with table-side service daily, transportation, a team of experienced and licensed professionals available 24/7, health and wellness visits, on-site medical director, on-site therapies, on-site homehealth care agency, concierge services, housekeeping, and a full calendar of social and recreational activities.
This Florida retirement community will feature a Grande Clubhouse with dining room, lounge, game room, movie theater and lecture area, senior-equipped fitness center, indoor heated therapy pool and whirlpool spa, professional beauty salon and spa with barber shop, media center with cognitive brain fitness, and a multifunctional crafts center. The clubhouse’s appointments, amenities and features will be on par with the country’s finest resorts.
Discovery Village at The Forum will consist of one, three-story building of 30 homes for supervised independent living; a separate two-story wing with 66 suites for assisted living; and adjoining the clubhouse will be 30 suites for memory care residents. Accommodations feature studios, studio grands, and one-bedroom senior-living apartment homes for the ultimate in senior living.
“We’re happy to report that construction of Discovery Village at The Forum will employ hundreds of people in the industry who have been hurt by the decline in the economy,” Harrison said. “Plus, the community itself will employ more than 100 people.”
Discovery Village at The Forum LLC has selected Architect Build LLC, a DeAngelis Diamond Company, as general contractor, and GMA Architects and Planners (formerly Gora-McGahey Architects) for architectural and planning services.
Harrison points out that Discovery Village at The Forum is in a 45-square-mile region where the senior population continues to grow steadily.
“The percentage of the total population age 75-plus is expected to grow more than 7 percent over the next five years, and the percentage of people 85 and older will increase 11 percent over the same time period,” he said.
