

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) - Federal forecasters are predicting yet another busy hurricane season. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration outlook calls for 13 to 20 named storms, 7 to 11 that strengthen into hurricanes and 3 to 6 that become major hurricanes.
NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A federal judge has refused to let the city of New Orleans out of a potentially expensive agreement to reform its troubled police department. City officials last year reached the agreement with the Justice Department calling for sweeping changes in police practices and policies. City officials said they plan to appeal.

Brennan's restaurant's French Quarter property was purchased Thursday for $6.8 million by mortgage holder Leggo/4. An attorney for two Brennan family members says they will need to negotiate a lease with the new property owner.
NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Gulf of Mexico anglers will have a longer red snapper season than they thought. Federal regulators had said the season would be nine to 28 days depending on the state. But a week before opening, NOAA Fisheries announced that the recreational red snapper season in federal waters will be 17 to 34 days.
