Post office robbed in Newton

NEWTON, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say two people entered the Newton Post Office brandishing a handgun and robbed the clerk of an undetermined amount of cash.

Mayor David Carr tells The Meridian Star that no one was injured Monday.

Investigators with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service are in charge of the probe.

Postal service investigators have not released any information about the robbery.
