LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - Calcasieu Parish authorities are trying to determine if a methamphetamine lab is what caused an explosion that blew out walls of a Lake Charles motel room.
Billy Chapman, a spokesman with the parish narcotics team, said investigators found components used to make meth in the Days Inn room after Friday's explosion.
He said officials were interviewing a man they think ran from the scene with burns on his arms.
Chapman said the meth was being made under a bed. The walls of the room were blown out, and glass shards were spread in the parking lot near the room.
No other injuries were reported.
