Student Weather Station

This year take a trip around the world and back through time with WXVT'S meteorologist as we launch a new weather series, Student Weather Station.  In a journey through weather myths and legends, we will explore how cultures throughout the world have attempted to explain and deal with the wrath of nature.  These are the tales of dragons, thunderbirds and ancient gods who hurled lightning bolts to the earth.

Student Weather Station will also feature weather questions and classroom photographs submitted by local students and teachers.  Student questions and photographs will be included in our 6am and 5pm newscasts.

From the fantastic world of legends and mythology to the latest in weather technology, WXVT's meteorologists bring to television the science we use today to forecast severe weather.  Weather information viewers can use to stay safe in the storm. We invite 3rd through 8th grade teachers and students throughout the Delta to join the adventure and be a part of Student Weather Station.  If you are a teacher and want your classroom to participate and receive free educational materials, please sign up today.
