NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit Louisiana on Friday to highlight the White House's efforts to help the Gulf Coast recover from hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005.
Gov. Bobby Jindal, Sen. Mary Landrieu and New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin are expected to join Biden at a recreation center in New Orleans' Gentilly neighborhood. Also on Friday, Biden's wife, Jill, is scheduled to tour Delgado Community College in New Orleans.
Later Friday, Biden and Landrieu are scheduled to visit an apartment complex for seniors in Cameron Parish, which was devastated by Rita.
On Saturday, the Bidens plan to travel to south Florida to meet with a group of Haitian-Americans and discuss the administration's response to Tuesday's deadly earthquake in Haiti.
