ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - The Arthur F. Smith Middle Magnet school teacher arrested last week in connection with reportedly have sex with a student faces 20 new counts of cyberstalking.

Sheriff Chuck Wagner said 25-year-old Sherry Darrnell Gentle was initially arrested by deputies and booked with having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old male student.

She was booked with three counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile. Wagner said her first arrest in connection with the case was Dec. 14 on a charge of stalking.

Wager tells The Alexandria Daily Town Talk the most recent charges stem from 20 separate incidents of Gentle trying to contact the boy since her release from jail on Jan. 6.

Gentle was booked into the Rapides Parish Jail Wednesday, and bond has not yet been set.
