NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a $64.9 million contract to Chapel Hill LLC for clay need to complete levees in eastern New Orleans.
The corps said the levees required a specific type of clay to prevent seepage. Chappel Hill has operations in Louisiana and Mississippi.
Eastern New Orleans was heavily damaged by flooding from Hurricane Katrina in August 2005.
