SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - A man convicted of shooting a Shreveport police officer has been sentenced to 58-years in prison.
State District Judge Leon Emanuel sentenced 27-year-old Lucien Trammell on Monday in the January 2008 wounding of John Madjerick.
In July, a jury found Trammell guilty of attempted first-degree murder.
Madjerick had stopped Trammell, a convicted felon, as part of a burglary investigation. Trammell shot Madjerick in the face.
Madjerick survived the shooting and is back on the force.
