NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A legal challenge to federal campaign finance restrictions is set for a hearing in federal court in New Orleans.
One issue in Monday's hearing before U.S. District Judge Ginger Berrigan is whether key issues in the case should go straight to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals - in effect putting the case on a faster track to the Supreme Court.
The suit by national and state Republicans and Congressman Joseph Cao (Gow) of New Orleans challenges limits on limits on what state and national parties can spend in coordinated efforts for a candidate.
