CHALMETTE, La. (AP) - Two Chalmette men have been booked with aggravated burglary in the home-invasion robbery of an 88-year-old St. Bernard Parish man.
Authorities said the unidentified victim was at his Chalmette home Monday night when a masked man burst in, knocked him out of his motorized wheelchair and rummaged through the house, taking $200, a bank debit card and prescription painkillers.
The victim could not get up and began yelling for help. A neighbor found him and authorities were notified.
On Tuesday, deputies arrested 21-year-old Brandin Miller and 25-year-old Edward Zacaharias.
Authorities allege Zacharias was the masked man and Miller drove the getaway vehicle.
